After my A levels in 1987 I studied for the bar at the Universities of Trier and Cologne for two years before I changed in 1989 to the University of Düsseldorf where I studied literary translations.

I concluded this interdisciplinary course of study of the German, English and Italian language and literature in 1994 with the finale grade of 1.6.

In addition to my freelance activity I completed an internship with a German publishing company and worked for eight years as project manager in a

well-known translation bureau situated in Aachen.

Due to many stays abroad (mostly in Rome and London) I am well acquainted with the language and culture of Italy and Great Britain.

I have been married since 2001 and I have two children.
